New mothers need plenty of rest, good nutrition and water, as well as emotional support. The laundry can wait.
Breast-feeding is best but there is no guilt in bottle-feeding with nutritious formulas.
You can never wash your hands enough in the care of a newborn. Wash before feeding, holding and after changing them.
Avoid “showing them off” until they are 3 months or older, especially during cold and flu season.
Place them on their back to sleep and to lessen the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
